While we are on this cruise, we are effectively incommunicado. As a result, we were unaware of the ash cloud heading over NZ and Australia. We were also unaware of the recent earthquakes in CHC.
Unbelievable!
On the one hand, we are glad to be away from all of the tremors. After all, that is one of the reasons we have been looking forward to this holiday.
On the other hand, there is a sense that we want to be there, to make sure that our home and our friends are ok.
Just like every other time, there is nothing much that we can do, so we will just have to wait until we get better contact with the real world. By this weekend we should be in Toronto, so will be able to trawl for information then.
Realistically, everything I have written since boarding the ship probably won’t be uploaded till then, anyway.
