Granada

Today was a good day for the fat and unfit. 

We were dropped off at the top of a hill to look down on Granada. 

We had a very mischievous guide from this point, taking us through the alleys down first to a great vantage point to see the Ulhumbra palace. Laura. 

From there it was down further, through souk lanes to the Royal Chapel   

Saw another Tortoise Torturer here too  

Hopefully it slept through it all.

After lunch we toured the Alhambra complex. That’s the palace we saw from this morning’s viewpoint. 

A guide made an interesting comment, that hilighted the differences between the Romans and the Muslims. They were both brilliant in their architecture and industrial design, but there was a more fundamental difference:

Romans brought water to the cities. 

Muslims brought water to the fields. 

Irrigation, crops, feeding the population.
