So today looked like being a bust. Weather forecast was for a crap day.
This was more of a rest day anyway, so no big deal. Sarah had one thing on her list. Cardiff Castle. My contribution to the list would be the hop-on-hop-off. It’s always a good idea to do the HOHO in any new city, to get the lay of the land. We did a PhD on the HOHO, and decided it wasn’t worth the price. The castle would be top of their list, and we can walk to that.
Well, the Castle is quite close to our hotel.
THIS is how close it is.
So we waited for a break in the weather, and popped on over the road.
There’s surprisingly little to it. An abandoned turretty thing, and a big house. Oh, and a clock tower. Everything else is just related to the wall, to keep the peasants from being revolting.
Sarah is very impressed with the attention to detail in the house. The quality of the carvings and sculptures is impressive.
After the castle, we wandered over the road to, guess what, a souvenir shop.
All sorts of things to cover the whole country. London, Game of Thrones, Dr Who. Oh yes, and of course Wales and Cardiff. There is an odd thing they sell in all sizes. Something called a Lovespoon. Wacky, huh? Anyway, the last photo is about that. The things some people aspire to. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
