Well, we got out of the hotel about 0700, and took the 3 minute walk to the subway.
Down the escalator lugging a bag plus crap each. That was the easy bit. We need to go down another level to the airport line, and no escalator. Good Grief!!!
There's an escalator up from there, but not down. Oh, well.
According to google maps, the next train to the airport is due at 0719. And it arrives on time. Excellent!
8 minutes later we arrive at the airport station. We now have to wait for the bus to the terminal. The wait is actually longer than the train ride.
Lugging bags on and off a bus is not a fat white guys idea of a good time, but we are here at last.
Travelling JetBlue. We had booked our seats to Dulles, but now want to go to Reagan. There is no train at Dulles, and it is way out of town. Reagan is in the city, and has a train right to our stop. We queue up to see the check-in agent. No problem, sir, that will be $40 each for the change. It's worth it.
We get a new itinerary each. We get a receipt for the payment. We get our boarding passes. All on boarding pass stock.
I remember suggesting this in the past. Imagine how fast our check-ins would be if we didn't need to send someone to ticketing to get an excess receipt? Swipe the credit card, and spit out the receipt from the BP printer. Anything that needs to be printed? The BP printer can do it. Fast.
Through security now. Much faster than Toronto. Maybe because customs are not in the picture. Anyway, Sarah commented that this is the first security queue we have done that has elevator music. Nice.
Waiting at the gate now. The aircraft we are going on is an Embraer 190. A little surprised. Last time I flew with them, they were operating A320s only. Efficient to have a common aircraft across the fleet.
Never mind, the E190 still has 36 TV channels and 100 radio channels, just like it's big brother.
