Heading east now along the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Stopped for lunch at a town called Arle, where Vincent Van Gogh spent some time.
Then it was off to Carcassone. No, I hadn’t heard of it either. This is another walled city, built over a number of centuries by a number of different groups.
There is a nice basilica inside the walls.
A few shops inside the walls, many selling medieval paraphernalia and toys
I don’t know what the kids are like here, but they get to play with toy swords, pistols, slingshots and crossbows.
I even saw knuckle-dusters for sale. Maybe that’s for the teachers to defend themselves.
